Side by Side, Sizeing things up

Another scanned photo that needs updating, amassing what you could get away with on a web site in the 90’s

Here is the SR20 out of the 1/2 cut and on some stands in the garage.

Next the R16 came out of the Dato, with hood off and radiator and its supports removed there is reasonable access to the engine bay. The transplant was done with the frame on  as I didn’t have the space of inclination to remove it.

With the R16 out it could be more closely compared to the SR20 side by side. The SR20 and the R16 side by side they are very close if not exactly the same length
in the engine as is the four speed and the five speed also being very close to the same length. The SR20 is a very tall engine though.

When completed the shifter comes through the floor in the same position as the original.
